The Tuesday Toss Up: Gary Young
by: Alex Bermudez

Name: Gary B. usey Young aka Juice Man

Age: 26

Years shreddin: 17

Sponsors: Vans, Sunday Bikes!, Odyssey, Action Village, Pro Tec and East County BMX.

Home is? San Diego

Where are you and what are you currently doing?

At home coughing up lung jype. Getting sick sucks.

This San Diego winter has been amazing so far but how have the waves been hittin'? Have you been catchin' barrels or catchin' bars lately?

I haven t surfed to much since I had knee surgery but riding has been awesome lately.

You recently gave your gorgeous mane away to Locks of Love, how long were you growing that bad boy out for? Who would you hope to be wearing your hair right now? Perhaps Danny Devito or Bruce Willis?

Growing my hair out took about two years. I just hope that who ever gets my hair doesn t keep getting the dread locks that I would get. Long hair is a lot of work.

It hasn't been too long since you had that double knee surgery, how do those knees feel before, during and after a session? Do you have a routine to keep your knees in check and healthy?

My knees have been treating me quite well. I suppose you could call it a routine, I just try to keep them strong and flexible.

What is "The Knee Club"? Where and how can kids sign up?

First rule of the knee club is to not talk about the knee club. No one actually wants to be in the knee club.

You recently made moves from Macneil to Sunday, how's the move been thus far? What frame are you currently shreddin'? Should we expect any signature Gary Juicy frames or parts from Sunday in the near future?

It has been really awesome! I'm currently riding a prototype with the 3rd generation of wave tubing technology. We're working on a new line of completes and my own frame to be coming out sometime next year.

You traveled all over the world but where's a place you're trying to visit? Is this visit for leisure or for shreddin'?

I'm pretty much up for going anywhere, of course I'm biased to nice weather.

You recently became a certified open water diver, when and where are you lookin' to go diving next? Can I come? Can we ride dolphins?

I want to go check out some wreck dives. Of course man, bring your flippy floppies. We can ride dolphins as long as they are doing flips and $h1t.

On that note, can you list the top 3 priorities of a dolphin?

No, but I hear that a group of dolphins can produce wifi.

What are your current favorite parks or spots to shred in San Diego?

Clairemont YMCA, Dennis , ditches and schools.

What's your schedule looking like for 2010? Jam packed deluxe contest season?

I have a few contests scheduled but I have a bunch of trips that I'm really looking forward to. Also, we're going to start filming for a video pretty soon...

How stoked are you for the upcoming Christmas shopping season? Any New Year's resolutions you can fill us in on?

I'm just thankful that my family and friends are healthy for the most part. My New Year s resolution is to keep better track of my financials and stay out of the hospitals.

Will you ever leave San Diego?

Life is a crazy ride so you never know but if I leave, hopefully I will come back.

Any last words?

Have fun and shred gnar!

San Diego's pride and joy, Gary Young! Photo: Justin KosmanI haven't known Gary for too long but I, like most of San Diego, have always looked up to him. He's the finest representation of the San Diego shred scene, he's Mr. Nice Guy with that friendly to all smile that never ends... But underneath that smile hides a cynical raptor that's likely to attack when your guard is down. Don't let his video sections and bios fool you! He swears unlike contrary to popular belief, he can grow a mean beard and has the ability to melt your face off with multiple shred maneuvers. Some call him Busey, others call him The Juice Man, either way, you can count on him to make it juicy for ya!

Josh Bedford Gnarling Out For Mutiny!
by: Alex Bermudez

Josh Bedford's riding doesn't need peg usage but pegs never hurt...I've been a fan of Josh Bedford since the Voices video... When Tomorrow We Work dropped a year ago, his section in that only further clarified my liking for him and his riding. The dude seems to have good taste in music and he only goes gnarly and wiley like a bugga. Is that how you say that?

What came to my surprise is that he's running pegs in some of the clips, yet there's no grinds?! One hanger on a rail and the pegs go untouched for the remainder of the edit. But being that I love pegs, this may be a step in an awesome direction for Josh Bedford... Oh and a gnarly crash clip always works for the banger.

Check the Mutiny site for more.

Hoang's Raptor Pit!
by: Alex Bermudez

Classic mix up...Hoang's been shootin' photos for quite some time now, way before I even became faithful to the dragon... It may have taken him years to become productive with all his photos but Hoang finally made a site to slam up all his rad pictures on. Dragonman has a good eye for that artsy shit and knows how to go Super Saiyan if you think differently! Check a few photos of Hoang that I took with the Crackberry and I promise you these aren't photoshopped what so ever...

Hoang has been known to go Super Saiyan for extreme stunts but once he did it just for the camera. Here's a brief list of names Hoang may find offensive, use them with caution:

-Liu Kang

-Bruce Lee

-Chili Mang

-Sing Sing Ming Ting!

Kyle and I kept calling Hoang Liu Kang one night, he threatened to beat both our asses...

Props Megatour #9 Droppin' Soon!
by: Alex Bermudez

With a grip of shredders like these, expect hammers to be dropped! The new PROPS Megatour looks like it's going to be pretty awesome, only 4 teams on this one too... These usually have more than 4 teams, right? Seems to me that the expensive toll to be featured on a Props Megatour isn't lookin too good for companies during this recession session. At least the 4 teams featured in this have a ton of heavy hittin' dudes, check Miles Rogish reppin' the goose for the last time too!

Here's what you can expect out of this one... Over 20 sweaty savages, with 7 days worth of shredding from Chicago, IL to Minneapolis, MN and banger hammer drop shreddin'...

With the list of riders below, this one looks to be good!

Teams:
Mongoose: Justin Cobal, Paul Ryan, James Ivett, Greg Illingworth, Miles Rogoish, Chuck Fallon (TM)
Profile: Jeff Klugiewicz, Conall Keenan, Larry Alvarado, Grant Castelluzzo, Jared Eberwein, Matt Coplon (TM)
Tree: Zak Earley, Bobbie Altiser, Eben Fischer, Justin Sexhaur, Nathan Parker, Sam Schulte (TM)
Eastern: Eric Holley, Phil Jones, Adam Banton, Karl Poynter, Leigh Ramsdell (TM)

Miles Rogish Now Shreddin' For Subrosa!!
by: Alex Bermudez

No need to phone home, the blarch has been rolled with Oklahoma's finest!!Miles Rogish decided to ditch the goose and hop on the Subrosa train, better to abandoned ship than to go down with it, I guess... Or was it even going down? Is someone going down on Miles as you read this? We may never know but fact of the matter is that Subrosa is the team to be apart of now a days, they got all the dudes and they got that black and white style that you know and love.

Miles of course slammed together a bang-A-fucking-rang edit for a proper introduction, so you can check that out below. Just know that sometimes he wears a traditional mexican poncho, blarchez like a madman and cranks turndowns in all it's forms.

Did I mention he's a modern day trailblazer for that there E.T. maneuver? Better phone home bitch!
