What got you into BMX and what influences you to shred?
My locker partner and friend, John Gorny, years back got me into riding and I haven't let up since but the thing that keeps me going is the freedom and pure fun that bikes give you.
Are there any particular shredders or old timers you look up to?
Yes, Tony Tuominen, for sure. He's an underrated rider her in the N.W. For the old timers it would be Dave Young, Pizza Dick, Lou and Lee Rajsich, Rooftop and Castillo.
Who are some people you shred with on a normal basis?
Mark Rainha, Tony Tuominen, David Joy and Fudge.
Favorite spots or set ups?
Down by the train tracks and industrial area or in the middle of the city. I don't really have any favorite spots, I just like to cruise around.
Portland has quite the shred scene, with lots of talented riders coming out of there, is there any dudes we should be looking out for?

You recently left Draven shoes after being with them for quite some time, what was your reason for leaving?
The lack of everything...

Yeah, I did but I can't let the cat out the bag just yet but keep your eyes open... Coming soon!!
Were you born punk as fuck or are there photos of you somewhere with a bowl cut in a nice turtleneck sweater?
Absolutely not. And there's definitely photos of myself to prove it, check out the proof.
What's the biggest misconception with punk and the style that comes with it? And a few of your favorite bands, punk or not...?
People look at you like you're a freak and into drugs and alcohol, NOT TRUE AT ALL, don't judge a book by it's cover. My favorite bands are: The Ramones, Joy Division, The Clash, GBH, The Riffs and Donny and Marie... Ahahaha.
You're covered pretty heavily in tattoos, would you say you're into tattoos or something? Are there any particular tattoos of yours that hold great meaning to you than others?
Yeah, just a little. Yes, the one that reads my deceased brother's name and the one on my chest, it's very American.
What are some things that get you stoked on life and what are some things that piss you off?
There's a lot of things that get me stoked on life, a few of which are riding, traveling, photography and doing nails. The things that piss me off are drugs, alcohol and rain.
Off the bike, where and what can you be found doing?
You can find me fishing, shooting photos, walking, going to shows, doing nailz, skateboarding, hanging with my Amy, hill bombing, hiking, sleeping, eating candy, watching The Nightmare Before Christmas, sipping tea, hanging in my hammock in the trees and living the Portland dream!
What's a typical day in the life of Caleb Ruecker?
Wake up, have some tea, depending on the weather, get on my bike and do my rounds of saying hi to people. Pizza pit stop. Stop at the tattoo shop to chat, continue to ride, hang out with the lady... Any given day will be different.
